Seven officials from Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) visited Korea in April for discussions on the progress and findings of the Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) “Policy Consultation for the Effective Construction and Development of the Logistics System in Infrastructure in Peru.” During their time in Korea, the MINCETUR officials also toured Incheon Airport, Asiana Airlines, Pantos Logistics, Busan Port Authority, Hanjin Terminal, Hyundai Terminal, and the Uiwang Inland Container Depot, among others. The objective of these excursions was to understand the success factors in Korea’s shipping and logistics industry, elicit implications, and develop appropriate solutions for Peru. During the interim reporting session, various stakeholders from the public and private sectors in Korea attended to hear the findings to date from the consulting team comprising subject matter experts from Korea IT Consulting (KITC) and TG. Other business representatives from Korea shared their experiences in logistics and shipping and tips on how the Peruvian government can leverage its current institutional, technical, and infrastructural environment to continue to grow and benefit from this sector. The final dissemination seminar will be hosted by MINCETUR in Lima on the 17th of June 2019.
